Why the External Illuminator Series?
A commercial flagpole and integrated lighting system in one — engineered to keep your flag flying and visible around the clock, with no separate fixture to install or maintain.
Integrated Illumination — No Extra Fixture
The Beacon lighting system is built directly into the pole, not added on. There's no ground-mounted spotlight to aim, no separate conduit run, and no fixture to reposition when the flag moves. The light source is at the top of the pole, aimed down at the flag — exactly where it needs to be for full, even coverage. One installation, one system.
Flag Code Compliant 24/7 Display
U.S. Flag Code requires that the American flag be illuminated if displayed after sunset. The External Illuminator makes continuous, compliant display straightforward — no manual switching, no scheduling concerns. Pair it with a photocell or timer and the light activates automatically at dusk, keeping your display code-compliant every night without staff intervention.
External Halyard — Simple, Familiar Operation
The external halyard system uses a standard rope and cleat mechanism — the same setup most commercial properties already know. No access door, no key, no winch to crank. Raising and lowering the flag takes under a minute and requires no training. For properties where multiple staff members rotate flag duty, external halyard operation is the lowest-friction choice.
Commercial-Grade Construction Throughout
Built on the same 6063-T6 aluminum shaft and NAAMM FP 1001-07 rated structure as FlagCo's full commercial line. The revolving truck uses sealed stainless steel ball bearings, the ornament is gold anodized aluminum, and all hardware is spec'd for long-term outdoor exposure. The Beacon fixture itself is rated for continuous exterior use — no components that need seasonal removal or weatherproofing.

* The External Halyard Beacon is pre-wired at the factory and suitable for poles with a 3.5" top diameter or larger. The beacon revolves 359° to track the flag as it moves in the wind, keeping illumination on the flag face at all times. Solar power options are available — see Solar Options below.

How long does shipping take?
Most flagpoles ship within 5-7 business days. Multi-section poles (35’+) ship via freight carrier and require a delivery appointment. Free shipping on all orders over $500.
What size flag should I fly?
Each configuration has a recommended flag size, which you can see in the configuration table above. As a rule of thumb: 20′ poles fly a 4’×6′, 25’–35′ poles fly a 5’×8′ or 6’×10′, 40’–45′ poles fly an 8’×12′, 50’–60′ fly a 10’×15′ or 12’×18′, and the 80′ flies a 15’×25′. We sell all standard flag sizes.
What's the difference between 1-section and 2-section poles?
A 1-section pole is a single continuous shaft, stronger and cleaner looking, but harder to ship and install for taller sizes. A 2-section pole ships in two pieces that sleeve together on-site. Wind ratings are the same for both. The 2-section option costs slightly more due to the additional machining but makes delivery and installation easier, especially for heights over 30′.
