Real Work

One Manufacturer, One Quote

Most flagpole projects mean coordinating a manufacturer and a separate local contractor yourself. In the Triangle, FlagCo handles both.

Most flagpole companies split the job in two: one company manufactures the pole, a different local contractor installs it, and you're the one coordinating between them, tracking two invoices and two warranties. FlagCo doesn't work that way in the Triangle. We build the pole at our own facility in Acworth, Georgia, and FlagCo manages the installation as part of your quote, through our Raleigh office.

The process is the same whether it's a 20 ft pole outside a small office or an 80 ft pole at a corporate or government campus: we confirm the wind rating for your address, size the foundation, and get you a firm install quote, most of the time without a site visit.

FlagCo manufactures commercial aluminum flagpoles from 15 to 80 ft, external halyard, internal winch, internal cam cleat and reinforced configurations, rated from 85 to 170 mph per NAAMM FP 1001-07. Every shaft starts as 6063-T6 aluminum, cut, machined and finished at our Acworth facility, backed by a limited lifetime warranty on the shaft.

Know Your Wind Zone

The Triangle Sits in a 90 MPH Wind Zone

FlagCo's wind speed data (ASCE 7-10, 3-second gust at 33 ft above ground) rates Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and the rest of the Piedmont at 90 mph. Moving toward the coastal plain the requirement steps up to 100 mph per NAAMM FP 1001-07, and the immediate coast needs 110. Look up your exact address for a precise number.

Your Pole Is Manufactured, Not Imported

Every FlagCo commercial flagpole starts as 6063-T6 aluminum stock, cut, machined and finished at our own facility at 3600 Cantrell Industrial Ct, Acworth, GA. Hardware, cleats and halyard systems are built in-house too.

For a Raleigh-area project, your pole ships by freight carrier from that facility, and FlagCo manages the installation as part of your quote, coordinated through our Raleigh office. No importer and no separate distributor to deal with.

What an Install Involves

Five Steps From Quote to Flag in the Air

The same process whether it's a 20 ft pole outside a small office or an 80 ft pole at a corporate or government campus.

  1. 1

    Tell FlagCo about your project

Call or send the form with your pole height, site address and timeline. Most poles can be quoted with installation from those details; a site visit only happens when the project calls for it.

  2. 2

    Wind and code check

The Triangle sits in a 90 mph ASCE 7-10 wind zone; sites toward the coast need more. FlagCo confirms the exact requirement for your address before the pole is ordered, tells you what your jurisdiction requires for permitting, and can support the permit application.

  3. 3

    Foundation work

Concrete foundation and steel ground sleeve, sized to the pole height. Set depth runs from 2 ft on a 20 ft pole up to 5 ft on a 50 ft pole.

  4. 4

    Manufacturing and freight

Your pole is cut, machined and finished at FlagCo's Acworth, Georgia facility, then shipped by freight carrier to your Raleigh-area site.

  5. 5

Pole erection, lighting and final walkthrough

The shaft goes in, halyard and hardware get rigged, and the spun aluminum flash collar goes on at grade. If you added a Beacon, it gets mounted and wired on site, and our team walks you through the finished install before leaving.

Raleigh Flagpole FAQ

Common Questions

What business owners, facility managers and government buyers ask before installing a commercial flagpole in the Triangle.

Do I need a permit to install a flagpole in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary or elsewhere in the Triangle?

Permit requirements vary by city and county across the Triangle. Some jurisdictions treat a commercial flagpole like any other structure and require a permit and a footing inspection; others do not. FlagCo's Raleigh office will tell you what your specific jurisdiction requires as part of your quote, before work starts, and we can support the permit application if your project needs one.

What wind rating do I need for a flagpole in the Triangle, and what about the coast?

FlagCo's ASCE 7-10 data rates Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Wake Forest, Garner, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Clayton, Smithfield, Hillsborough, Carrboro and Pittsboro, along with Greensboro and Charlotte, at a 90 mph wind zone. Moving toward the coastal plain the requirement steps up to 100 mph per NAAMM FP 1001-07 (a band that splits Fayetteville between 90 and 100), and the immediate coast, including Wilmington, needs a 110 mph rated pole. Look up your exact address on FlagCo's Wind Speed Tool to confirm.

What does a turnkey flagpole installation from FlagCo include?

One quote from FlagCo covers the pole, the foundation work, and the installation, plus optional Beacon lighting to illuminate your flag after dark. You are not coordinating between a separate manufacturer and a local contractor, or tracking two invoices and two warranties; FlagCo's Raleigh office manages the project from quote to finished install.

My pole is manufactured in Georgia. How does it get to my Raleigh site?

Every FlagCo flagpole is cut, machined and finished at our own facility in Acworth, Georgia, then shipped by freight carrier to your site or a staging location nearby. FlagCo coordinates the delivery and installation through our Raleigh office, so you are not managing freight logistics yourself.

How long does a flagpole installation take, from quote to flag in the air?

Timeline depends on pole height, foundation work, permitting in your jurisdiction, and freight transit from Acworth. Most projects can be quoted with installation from your project details, often without a site visit; you'll get a project timeline as part of your quote.

What foundation and set depth does my pole need?

Ground-set poles use a concrete foundation and steel ground sleeve sized to the pole height. Set depth and overall length scale with exposed pole height:

Exposed heightSet depthOverall length
15 ft2 ft17 ft
20 ft2 ft22 ft
25 ft2.5 ft27.5 ft
